From the press release:

College of the Canyons Trustee and small business owner Scott Wilk has been endorsed by the Ventura County Lincoln Club.

Calling Wilk “the best qualified candidate,” Lincoln Club president Peter Dafau said, “I am pleased to announce that the Board of Directors has endorsed Scott Wilk for his run for Assembly.  Scott has private small business experience and vast public service knowledge.”

“The Lincoln Club membership represents some of the most influential voices in the business community and I am grateful for the work that they do, and particularly grateful for their support in my campaign,” said Wilk.  “I want to work closely with pro-business voices like the Lincoln Club as a member of the Assembly to find the best ways to get the California economy competitive again.”

Wilk is running to succeed Assemblymember Cameron Smyth, who is retiring after serving his limited three terms in the Assembly.  Smyth has joined fellow endorsers Congressman Tom McClintock, Ventura County Supervisor Peter Foy, Simi Valley Councilmembers Glen Becerra, Barbra Williamson, Mike Judge and Ventura County Board of Education Member Dean Kunicki.

It looks to me that Scott Wilk has secured all of the major endorsements in Ventura County, including the Ventura County Republican Party.

With two other Santa Clarita Valley based Republican candidates, Patricia McKeon and Paul Strickland, Wilk seems to be running hard in Simi Valley (Ventura County) where he is well known in Republican circles and the other candidates are not.

This may very well be the winning strategy.
